Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy covers both Exact Values products:

• The Exact Values iOS app available on the App Store.
• The exact-values.com web app, including the trig quiz, the article pages, and any subdomains we operate.

The two products handle data very differently, so each is covered separately below.

iOS app

The iOS app does not:

• Require a sign-in or account.
• Send any data to our servers (the iOS app does not talk to any server we run).
• Include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• Read your contacts, photos, location, or any other personal information.

The only data the iOS app handles is what you create while using it: per-question accuracy, quiz session history, streak data, and your local preferences (timer on/off, reminder time). All of this is stored on your device using Apple's standard SwiftData and UserDefaults, and never leaves it.

Notifications

If you enable Daily reminder in Settings, the app schedules a local iOS notification. The reminder is generated entirely on your device — we don't send push notifications and have no record that you enabled one. Revoke any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Exact Values.

Web app (exact-values.com)

You can use the web quiz without signing in — in that mode, nothing is sent to our servers beyond the standard hosting request logs maintained by our host (Google Firebase).

If you sign in

Signing in is optional and only needed to sync your quiz stats across devices. We support two methods:

• Google sign-in — Firebase Auth receives your Google email, display name, and profile-picture URL.
• Email-link sign-in — Firebase Auth receives only your email address.

Once you're signed in, we store the following in Google Firestore under your account:

• Per-question accuracy counts.
• Which questions you've previously answered incorrectly.
• Your current streak, longest streak, and last active date.
• Total number of test days.

We do not store payment information, IP-address-derived location, browsing history outside the quiz, or anything from other sites.

Pending results (before sign-in)

If you complete a quiz and then choose to sign in, we briefly stash the results (up to 10) in a temporary Firestore document so they can be attached to your account once auth completes. These documents are deleted after they're claimed.

Cookies and session storage

Firebase Auth uses a small set of cookies and browser storage entries to keep you signed in. We do not set any advertising, analytics, or cross-site-tracking cookies. There is no consent banner because there is nothing tracking-related to consent to.

Hosting and logs

The web app is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. Standard request logs (IP address, user-agent, request path, timestamp) are retained by Google for security and abuse-prevention purposes per their documented retention policies. We do not aggregate, analyse, or build profiles from these logs.

Data you can ask us to delete

Email support@exact-values.com from the address you signed up with and we will delete your account and all associated Firestore data within 30 days. You can also delete your account from the web app's settings page (when available).

Subprocessors

We use these services to operate the products. Their terms apply to data they receive:

• Google Firebase (Hosting, Authentication, Firestore) — backend for the web app.
• Apple App Store — handles purchases for the iOS app; we never see your payment information.

Children's privacy

The iOS app collects no personal data and is safe for users of any age, including children under 13.

The web app's optional sign-in is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please use the web quiz without signing in, or use the iOS app. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we will delete the account.

Changes

If we change how either product handles data, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the revision. Material changes will also be noted in the iOS app's release notes or via an in-app notice on the web.
